How to
create a fragrance
A typical Peony Perfume & Chemical fragrance contains from 30 to
more than 200 different ingredients in infinitely variable proportions. By
skillfully selecting and adjusting those components, we customize the
scents and control how and when they're actually perceived in your
product.
The key is to create a fragrance with the perfect combination of Top
Notes, Mid Notes and Base Notes.
The Top Note is the first impression. It is the fragrance the customers
notice when they unscrew the cap, unseal the wrapper, open the box, or
push the spray cap.
The right top-note will boost buying appeal at the point of sale (or
counteract an odor that might work against you.) Sometimes the top note is
everythingˇ Sometimes you don't want much top-note at all.
Middle Note: This is the soul of the fragrance. It's most prominent
after the top-note recedes. The middle note is what your customer
experiences during the shampoo... while the candle is burning. Depending
upon the product and who's using it, you may want a subtle or pronounced
mid-note. We can show you how and when it makes sense.
Base Note: This is the note with tenacity, the lingering scent of your
product. Some products, such as fabric softeners, rely heavily on base
notes. Others should have only a minimal base note. In an adult shampoo,
for example, a fruity floral mid-note may be dreamy in the shower. But you
don't necessarily want those fruits and flowers following you to the
office. Kid's shampoos, however, often do better with lingering base
notes. That's where our experience helps.
At Peony Perfume &
Chemical, we realize that complexity can be the key to a successful
fragrance. We can create a fragrance solution with a fruity top-note,
which gives way to a floral mid-note, then to a powdery base note.
Just tell us what your product goals are, and we'll create the perfect
fragrance to meet them. Just give us a e-mail and we can personally
discuss your needs.
